TwoTone is a big fan of the trees, especially beech trees. This time of year you have interesting leaves to eat, along with the unripe cob-nuts. Two doesn’t care, everything goes in and you just hear an occasional crunch as a nut is processed by his back teeth.
Llamas seem to have two modes of eating. First of all there is the delicate snipping off of a thistle flower, or the picking of a blackberry from a bush which seem to be mostly done using their prehensile lips. Second is more like an industrial shredder as a small branch is pulled off a tree, or a whole thistle is ripped up and slowly engulfed with every appearance of enjoyment.
At this time of year, with plenty of grass it just seems to be their love of variety that drives them to eat the trees, hedges, thistles etc. In the autumn, anything green will be fair game!
