Walks

P1000356

We offer walks throughout the year at weekends and school holidays around the Ozelworth valleys, south of Stroud. If you want to walk at other times, please call as we can often fit in ad-hoc walks with a bit of notice.

You can give us a ring on 07910 294802 or send an email to jo.lawson

Please note that our walks take place across fields and rough lanes and are therefore unsuitable for those with limited mobility. Strong footwear is advised in all weathers.

We offer two routes as standard with up to 6 llamas  and 12 clients per walk:

A) Snowy’s Walk: approx. 1.5 hrs. £25 per adult.

A mostly flat walk along lanes, with a gentle descent into the valley and along. There is a short steep section at the end.

B) 2 Valleys Walk: 3 – 3.5 hrs with light lunch. £40 per adult.

Lanes, followed by a descent along wooded tracks to a small lake. Lunch. A gentle walk along the wooded valley floor beside the stream. Turning back via the valley from Snowy’s walk.

Children are welcome on all walks with an accompanying adult (please discuss with us if you are thinking of bringing very young children). Children over 12 will be charged half the adult price. If you are thinking of booking a walk, please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.

On a typical walk you would meet us with the llamas ready to go. We then give our safety talk and a bit about handling the llamas, how to hold the leads, what to say to get them to start, stop etc, what to do if they shy and a bit about the route. Next you pick your llama, get introduced and when everyone is happy we set off. All walks are relaxing ambles with plenty of time for photos and taking it all in.

Spud and packWe can swop llamas about during the walk or you can bond with yours for the trip. We have customers who come back regularly and want the same llama each time.

At the end of the trip we go back to the field to let them go with maybe a bit of carrot if they’ve behaved. If you have time you can meet the ones that didn’t go out and our small herd of alpacas. In the summer there are often cria (baby alpacas) running about.
